WASHINGTON -- Catholic handed Gwynedd-Mercy a 5-0 defeat in a first-round game of the 2010 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament Wednesday afternoon.

The Cardinals' Meredith Chandler netted three goals and added an assist. Her first two tallies of the day came in the game's first five minutes. She would then assist on the third score of the stanza two minutes later to put GM in a three-goal deficit where it stood until the end of the half.

GM goalie Christa Breidenstein (Reading, Pa./Muhlenburg) recorded six saves in the contest.

Gwynedd was outshot, 14-2, while CUA had a 9-4 penalty corner edge.

The Griffins end the 2010 campaign with a final record of 13-8.
