GWYNEDD VALLEY, PA. – Fifth-seeded Immaculata knocked out fourth-seeded Gwynedd-Mercy on a goal with just over a minute in regulation in a 1-0 defeat in quarterfinal action of the 2010 CSAC Women's Soccer Tournament.

The Griffins held a 15-7 shooting advantage, but could not convert on their opportunities. GM had a great look before halftime but a shot from the right wing just inside the box sailed over the cage. Later in the second half, Gwynedd kept the pressure on, but was unable to get on the scoreboard.

Immaculata broke through with the game's only goal with 1:06 left as IU's Bridget Cunningham was able to get enough on a header from a cross into the box to slip it past Gwynedd keeper Kristie Pollock (Kennett Square, Pa./Unionville).
Pollock finished with three saves. IU goalie Jessica Gaburo posted nine stops.

Immaculata moves on to the next round at top-seeded Cabrini for a semifinal matchup on Wednesday. The Griffins will end the 2010 season with a final mark of 9-10-1.
