Head Coach Kevin Clark enters his fifth season as the Head Men’s and Women’s Cross Country and Track& Field Coach at Gwynedd Mercy University.

Clark also serves as the facilities administrator for the University’s outdoor athletic complex and playing fields.

In his first year at the helm of the cross country program, he led the women’s team to the 2014 Colonial States Athletic Conference Championship which qualified them to participate in the NCAA Mideast Regional race. During this season, Matt Brown became the third Griffin to earn Freshmen All-Region honors (Awarded to the top 9 finishers at the regional meet).
Clark has produced six first-team and 12 second-team all-conference runners in his first four years at the helm.

Clark has been an assistant coach for the Griffin Track & Field teams since 2008 and assisted with the 2013 cross country squads which saw the men win their sixth-straight CSAC championship.

He is a graduate of Elizabethtown College where he was a Division III Indoor Track & Field National Champion in the pole vault in 2007. He is a three-time indoor All American in that event, finishing fourth in 2006 and 2008 as well as a three-time National Qualifier in the pole vault and the decathlon in the outdoor season. Clark was an All American selection during the outdoor season in 2006 in the pole vault after finishing second and again in 2008 in the decathlon with a fourth-place finish.

Clark, who went to nearby Hatboro-Horsham High School and was an assistant for the Hatters, also earned awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) as both an athlete and a coach. In 2008, he was selected the Mideast Region Indoor Field Athlete of the Year and the Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year. Two years ago, he was named the 2013 Mideast Region Indoor Assistant Coach of the Year.

Coach Clark’s athletes have rewritten the record books in both the throws and jumps in his time at Gwynedd Mercy. Clark coached the first four-time ECAC individual champion in program history in Justin Turner ’13, who captured four-straight high jump titles in the indoor season. Under Clark’s tutelage, Turner became a two-time All American, placing eighth in 2010 and in 2013 at the NCAA Championships. During the T&F seasons as head coach, he has produced three women’s All-Americans (Zakiyyah Richardson, Chante Moore 2x) and one women’s Academic All-American (Sara Gray). Since taking over there has been 17 school records broken.
