Bramsway Appears on AEC Baseball Weekly Honor Roll
Lancaster, Pa. – (3/14/2022) – Gwynedd Mercy University concluded their stay at The Ripken Experience, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with a 4-3, 10-inning loss to Catholic University. Mitchell Bramsway (Temecula, Calif.) earned an appearance on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Baseball Weekly Honor Roll for his effort in the loss (1-1) as the Griffins’ sophomore reliever allowed one run on one hit and six walks, while striking out four of the last 10 outs.
Catholic University (5-5) scored runs in each of their first two at-bats with singles through the left side, 2-0. Gwynedd Mercy University (3-7) answered with three runs in the top of the third inning, thanks to a two-run double from senior catcher T.J. Braiser (Levittown, Pa.) and a sacrifice fly from senior left fielder Brett Swire (Boyertown, Pa.), 3-2. Bullpens controlled the middle innings, but the Cardinals managed to tie the affair with a run in the sixth inning, 3-3. Bramsway entered in the bottom of the seventh inning and kept the affair tied until the bottom of the 10th inning. There walks eventually caught up to him as a lead-off free pass, a sacrifice, a second walk, a single, and a third walk precipitated the final run of the contest.
Gwynedd Mercy University plays next on Wednesday, March 16, when they visit Misericordia University for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.
