Cohen Latest Griffin to Join Baumeister on AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll

Lancaster, Pa. – (4/21/2025) – Sophomore utility Hannah Cohen (North Wales, Pa.) was the latest Griffin to accompany fifth-year pitcher/infielder Jocelyn Baumeister (Willow Grove, Pa.) on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Softball Weekly Honor Roll. She went 9-for-21 (.429) with four runs-batted-in (RBI), while Baumeister earned a win (7-6) and recorded the 300th strikeout of her collegiate career in a 6-3, game-two win over Immaculata University (Apr. 17).

Marywood University freshman catcher Riley Knott (South Abington Township, Pa.) and sophomore Grace Lorah (Clarks Summit, Pa.) were respectively selected as the AEC Softball Player and AEC Softball Pitcher of the Week. Cohen and Baumeister were joined on the AEC Softball Weekly Honor Roll by Neumann University graduate pitcher/utility Marina Costello (Swedesboro, N.J.) and junior catcher/utility Emily Ammon (Gap, Pa.), Marymount University junior pitcher/outfielder Bailey Demusz (Doylestown, Pa.) and junior utility Kaylee Atkins (Chesapeake, Va.), as well as Immaculata University fifth-year shortstop/pitcher Jess Oldham (Wilmington, Del.) and fifth-year pitcher/first baseman Riece Onorato (Cinnaminson, N.J.).

Baumeister first took a loss while holding Eastern University to three earned runs on four hits and two walks in game two of the Gwynedd Mercy University Softball Social. She struck out three Eagles, leaving her one shy of 300 for her collegiate career. She recorded just two days later with her first of eight in a 6-3, game-two win over league rival, Immaculata University. The victory was her seventh (7-6) of the season and she recorded her milestone strikeout with the second batter of the Mighty Macs' first at-bat. She held the Mighty Macs to two earned runs on nine hits and a walk.

Meanwhile, Cohen doubled home two runs in the third inning of game one versus Eastern University (L, 2-11 (6 innings) on Apr. 15), then singled home runs in the first and fourth innings of the first game versus Immaculata University (L, 5-10 on Apr. 17). She currently leads the Griffins in hits (31), doubles (5), triples (4), total bases (44), and his tied for the team-lead in RBI (15).

Gwynedd Mercy University returns to action on Tuesday, April 22, when they visit Albright College for a 3:00 p.m. non-conference doubleheader.
