DeSimone and Ezzie Return to AEC Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll

Sebastian DeSimone (West Orange, N.J.) and freshman
Ava Ezzie (Drexel Hill, Pa.) repeated on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC)
Men’s and
Women’s Cross Country Weekly Honor Rolls with their finishes at Stockton University’s Osprey Open. Despite no team score for the Griffins, DeSimone placed 27
th in the men’s eight-kilometer (8K) with a personal record of 31:11.30, while Ezzie finished 21
st in the women’s six-kilometer (6k) run with a time of 28:46.48.
Marywood University and Marymount University split this week’s major awards as the Pacers’ junior Joseph Cardillo (Dunmore, Pa.) and the Saints’ junior Avery Finnegan (Sterling, Va.) were respectively selected as the AEC Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Runners of the Week. DeSimone was joined on the men’s Weekly Honor Roll by Neumann University graduate Jodi Johnson (Seaford, Del.), Pratt Institute of Technology freshman Justin Cai (Surrey, Canada), and Marymount University senior Abdul Yakubu (Woodbridge, Va.).
Gwynedd Mercy University runs next on Saturday, September 21, when they compete at the Penn State Abington Invitational (M: 9:00 a.m./W: 10:00 a.m.).
