DeSimone and Ezzie Appear on AEC Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll
 
Lancaster, Pa. – (9/9/2024) – Gwynedd Mercy University junior Sebastian DeSimone (West Orange, N.J.) and freshman Ava Ezzie (Drexel Hill, Pa.) were respectively recognized on the Atlantic East Conference (AEC) Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll for their performances at Jefferson University’s Philadelphia Cross Classic (Sept. 7). Immaculata University swept this week’s major awards as sophomore Aubrey Donahue (Sewell, N.J.) was honored as the league’s Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week and freshman Samuel Domencic (Lebanon, Pa.) garnered the Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week title.
 
The Gwynedd Mercy University men's and women's cross country teams gathered at Belmont Plateau for Jefferson University's newly-dubbed Philadelphia Cross Classic. Neither Griffin side recorded a team score; Ezzie paced the Griffins in the women's five-kilometer (5K) run with a 40th-place time of 25:52.5, while DeSimone was the lone entry in the men's 8K. He finished 27th with a time of 33:09.4.
 
Gwynedd Mercy University runs next on Saturday, September 7, when they travel to Stockton University for the Osprey Invitational (M: 10:30 a.m./W: 11:15 a.m.).
