Manny Clark (Pottsgrove, Pa.) of the men's basketball team was honored with the Gwynedd Mercy University Male Senior Student-Athlete Award.
Clark's achievements on the hardwood are nothing short of impressive. The Griffin captain made three AEC Weekly Honor Roll appearances (Nov. 14, Dec. 12, Jan. 23) and was named both the AEC Offensive and Philadelphia Small College Basketball Association (PSCBA) Player of the Week on January 17 after hitting four threes (4-of-5, .800) and all six (6-of-6, 1.000) of his free throws in a career-high 38-point performance that led the Griffins to a 95-82 league victory over Marywood University (Jan. 11). Clark also earned PSCBA Team of the Week recognition on December 9 and December 21. He led Gwynedd Mercy University in minutes (858), minutes per game (31.8), field goals made (159), field goals attempted (346), threes made (59), threes attempted (138), free throws made (68), free throws attempted (87), defensive rebounds (117), total rebounds (148), rebounds per game (5.5), turnovers (70), points (445), and points per game (16.5), while ranking among the AEC Top-10 for minutes (6th), field goals made (3rd), field goal percentage (4th), threes made (3rd), free throws made (6th), free throw percentage (3rd), defensive rebounds (7th), total rebounds (T7th), rebounds per game (T6th), points (2nd), and points per game (4th). Clark garnered 2022-2023 All-AEC Men's Basketball First Team honors and was recognized on the 2022-2023 City of Basketball Love (CoBL)-Area Division III Men's Basketball Fourth Team.
Academically, the accounting major was a member of the Fall 2022 Gwynedd Mercy University Athletics Academic Elite and is a two-time member of the AEC All-Academic Team (2019-2020, 2020-2021).
