ASTON, PA. -- A plethora of Griffins earned weekly honors by the Colonial States Athletic Conference.

The softball team swept both marquee honors as sophomore Jessica Behr was named the CSAC Softball Hitter of the Week and freshman Alyssa Morales was chosen the CSAC Pitcher of the Week.

In baseball, senior Chris Hens was selected the CSAC Baseball Hitter of the Week while teammate Mike Di Ianni picked up a spot on the honor roll.

Behr had the hot bat as the team was in North Myrtle Beach over the Spring Break. In six games last week, she batted .474 (9-for-19) with seven RBI's, four runs, a double, triple, and a home run. Behr walked four times, stole two bases and posted a .565 on-base and .789 slugging average.

Morales picked up three wins for the Griffins this week on the mound while striking out 11 batters. She tossed two complete games and a shutout against Franciscan. She finished the week with a 2.62 era holding opponents to a .253 batting average as GMercyU went 5-1 last week.

Not to be outdone, Hens also was in the zone with the squad down in Central Florida over their Spring Break to help the team go 4-0 last week. He batted .615 (8-for-13), with five RBIs, four runs, and two doubles. He posted a .769 slugging and .667 on-base percentage in four starts. Defensively, he was flawless in the field on 12 chances.

Di Ianni threw a complete game against previously unbeaten McDaniel on Sunday as the sophomore worked seven innings, allowing only two runs while striking out four in the Griffins' 13-2 victory over the Green Terror.

The softball team gets back to action when they have their home opener on Saturday against Penn State-Brandywine in a doubleheader starting at noon.

Baseball will also have their first home game this week, as on Thursday they'll host Delaware Valley. On Friday, they'll travel to Marywood to kick off CSAC play before returning home on Saturday to play two with the Pacers here starting at noon.
