CSAC Announces Fall 2013 All-Academic Team

ASTON, PA. -- The Colonial States Athletic Conference has named 542 student-athletes to the Fall 2013 CSAC All-Academic Team. The CSAC All-Academic Team recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a grade-point average of 3.20 or higher during their semester of competition, while using a full season of eligibility as determined by the NCAA.

"Each one of these student-athletes should be commended," said CSAC Commissioner Jennifer Dubow.  "It is great to see that so many have excelled not only athletically, but also academically.  These student-athletes truly demonstrate the NCAA Division-III philosophy of enjoying a full collegiate experience, and they more than deserve this recognition."

Gwynedd Mercy had 55 student-athletes made up of the field hockey, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's cross country, women's cross country, volleyball, and women's tennis teams.

Immaculata led all institutions with 73 honorees, followed by Marywood (64), Cabrini (57), Gwynedd Mercy (55) and Neumann (47) rounding out of the top five.
Of the 542 student-athletes selected, 43 were First Team All-CSAC selections in their respective sports, while 38 were Second Team picks and 33 were Honorable Mention All-CSAC selections. Additionally, 41 honorees were named to their sport's All-Sportsmanship Team.

Four different CSAC Athletes of the Year are All-Academic honorees, including, Field Hockey Player of the Year, Maria Karidas and Women's Tennis Player of the Year, Rachel Fein  of Gwynedd Mercy University.
